02. VR Scripts

VR Scripts

As part of the project for this course, you will be producing a simple script for a 360 short. Aim for something that will play for about 5 minutes. In standard scripts for film, that is equivalent to about 5 pages in the standard script format - check this link for more information.

For our VR scripts, we’re going to alter that format, instead using a table. In the first column, you will write your main storyline. In the second, you’ll include a secondary story, which could be alternate characters, action in the distance, even perhaps props like a television or graphics that float in the air. Finally in the last column, include an any other things that might be happening simultaneously. I’ve provided a template spreadsheet for you to follow, but feel free to use whatever spreadsheet or word processing software you have available.

Each row of your column is a moment in time. Things that happen simultaneously are in the same row, and time increases as you move down through the table. What story are you going to tell?
